Idle Quarters Panorama Photography

$8,000.00

Each photographic relief diorama in South African fine art photographer Sandy McLea’s Idle Quarters series is composed of three-dimensionally altered images of abandoned building interiors in Kolmanskop, a ghost town in the Namibian desert. Artworks are constructed by bending and joining prints of the walls, floor, and doors from multiple angles so that a viewer’s sense of perspective is altered and warped when experiencing each work. The artist meticulously conceals details around hidden corners, through cracks and partially ajar doors, creating a sense of awe and discovery each time a work is studied.

Once the Idle Quarters series has sold, the artist will not create any more works from this particular site.
