Beauty from Brutality

Meet the Artisans Who Made Beauty From Brutality

Handcrafted by Mulberry & Mongoose, a women's cooperative in Zambia.

This exquisite jewelry line is inspired by life in the Zambian bush and handcrafted by talented local women. Creating “beauty from brutality,” pieces in this collection are made using snare wire removed from snare sets and cut free from wounded animals during anti-poaching patrols in South Luangwa, Africa.

From a workshop located on a well-trodden elephant path in Mfuwe, in the remote Zambian bush, local craftswomen make all of the jewelry by hand using natural materials from the South Luangwa Valley. In an area where unemployment is high, every piece sold plays a role in supporting the artisans, their families, and preserving the unique place that inspires their work.
